Cholesterol problems in your body: Signs

Your body makes cholesterol. Your body needs a moderate amount of cholesterol from the liver. This fat-like substance is vital for the formation of cell membranes, vitamin A, and certain hormones. Lipoproteins are particles that allow cholesterol to travel around the body. There are two main types of cholesterol in the body: low-density and high-density lipoproteins.

Low-density lipoproteins, also known as “bad cholesterol”, can build up in the arteries. This could lead to complications such as stroke and heart disease. This happens when there is too much fat in the body.

High-density lipoproteins, on the other hand, are known as “good cholesterol.” They aid the body to return the LDL to its liver and eliminate the bad cholesterol. One vital question is still unanswered: What are the signs of high cholesterol?

Cholesterol Problems in Your Bodily?

High cholesterol is not a sign of a high body’s health. High cholesterol cases usually lead to emergencies such as heart attacks or strokes. The problem is that high cholesterol can cause plagues in the arteries which narrow the pathway of the blood vessels. The arterial lining composition is also affected by this plaque formation, which can lead to serious health problems.

Blood tests are the only way to determine if you have high cholesterol. High cholesterol is defined as a total cholesterol level that exceeds 200 mg/dL. This test should be done at least once every four to six months. You should be more vigilant about your cholesterol levels if you have a history of high cholesterol.

How to Avoid High Cholesterol

You can do many things every day to keep your cholesterol levels in check. Here are some of these:

  • Regular exercise will help keep your cholesterol levels in check. It doesn’t matter if you run for miles; you can dance for 30 minutes at least three to four times per week. Resistance training can be done with pull-ups and push-ups as well as weight lifting.
  • Stop smoking. Smoking lowers good cholesterol and increases bad cholesterol. High blood pressure, diabetes and heart disease can all be linked to smoking.
  • A healthy weight is important: For men, a 40 inch waist could indicate trouble. For women, a 35 inch waist could indicate trouble. To find out what is best for you, consult your doctor.
